László Ágai Law Office provides a full range of legal services in the fields of corporate, commercial, civil and private international law in English, French and Hungarian languages. We also represent Hungarian and foreign companies and private individuals wishing to enforce their legitimate interests in civil lawsuits initiated before the competent courts.
The law office has also a significant experience in international acquisitions and regularly conducts full legal due diligence of Hungarian companies that foreign-based clients wish to purchase, in cooperation with its financial audit partner where necessary. For eight years, László Ágai has intensively been providing seamless legal services to foreign undertakings in the field of company acquisitions: the law office has the capacity to prepare high-quality due diligence reports in English or French and to conclude the relevant deals while disclosing the potential dangers in the Hungarian target companies and the eventual risks in the contemplated transactions. We pay particular attention to the development of IT law as new complex area of law (protection and processing of data, information technologies, copyrights, domain names, electronic signature, e-commerce) and thereby benefit of the trust of more and more companies operating in the IT sector.
Office head László Ágai is among those few and exceptional international business lawyers who not only have high-level foreign language skills but also an actual international experience, a multi-national legal culture, a legal knowledge and a breadth of view that excels from other fellow colleagues: he spent 13 years in France where he graduated in the Panthéon-Sorbonne University and also obtained an English law language certificate. After a couple of years spent as inhouse counsel with Paris-based Géodis-Calberson, he resumed his career as trainee lawyer and registered lawyer in the Budapest offices of Linklaters and Gide Loyrette Nouel while also getting a Hungarian law degree at Eötvös Lóránd University.
Dr. Ágai László is the first Hungarian lawyer having, with reference to the 98/5/EC Directive of the European Union of 16 February 1998 on „freedom of movement of attorneys”, represented a Hungarian client and successfully pled in French language before a French tribunal. He is considered by his clients and colleagues as an extremely serious, confident and trustful specialist.
